The Sparks Preparatory Program and Dance Team for dancers ready for more structure, commitment, and artistic growth.
JWSD's intermediate track is designed for dancers ages 6 and up who are ready to move beyond recreational classes and develop stronger technique, performance skills, and a deeper love for dance.
The intermediate level includes the Sparks Preparatory Program — a structured pathway that bridges recreational and advanced training — as well as the JWSD Dance Team for dancers ready for a team commitment.

Sparks Preparatory Program
Sparks is JWSD's bridge program for young dancers who show readiness for more structured training but aren't yet in the advanced company track.
Sparks dancers take classes in ballet, tap, and jazz with an emphasis on technique fundamentals, musicality, and performance confidence.
Placement in Sparks is determined in consultation with the dancer's current teacher. Dancers who thrive in Sparks may be invited to join Body Talk Dance Company.
JWSD Dance Team
The JWSD Dance Team is for dancers ages 8 and up who want a team-based performance experience with a year-round commitment.
Team members rehearse weekly and perform at community events, showcases, and competitions throughout the season.
Dancers must have at least one year of prior dance experience. Placement is by teacher recommendation or audition.

Beginners and families looking for a fun, low-commitment introduction to dance.
Ages 6+
Sparks Preparatory Program and Dance Team for dancers ready for more structure and commitment.
Ages 7+
Technique classes and Body Talk Dance Company for dedicated, pre-professional dancers.
